Spinach And Eggs

Image
Eggs and spinach together, look splendid with their contrasting colours but this is not entirely to appease your tongue but to help you to lose weight.  Spinach with all its goodness will make you feel full and the eggs with their high protein content will keep your hunger at bay and will induce sleep too, hence, this could be a twice-a-week dinner choice if you are trying to shed those extra pounds.    I just sprinkled a dash of salt and a few specks of pepper powder and gobbled them all up but you can splash a bit of chilli sauce, grate cheese on top, scatter chopped green chillies or flavour it with whatever you fancy to make it more appealing to your tastebuds.  However, You must remember, that this is entirely for helping you to lose weight and keep you nourished, essentially keeping the calorie level low. How to make: Just heat a flat pan and brush with olive oil Wash a quarter bag of spinach and drain the water Drop into the pan and let the leaves wilt slightly Now drop the egg

Egg Curry - Delicious curry - easy and simple

Image
You must have made eggs in every form and shape but have you tried egg curry yet?  If not, try this recipe out and you will love to have it on every weekend as a special treat for the whole family! This recipe is my own version which I kept simple but flavourful. I omitted the usual Indian spices used in this dish because they are not easily available in most of the countries in Europe and America.    Also, some could find the aroma of them too overwhelming.  If you have access to authentic Indian spices such as; cumin powder, coriandar powder and garam masala, feel free to add them in very small amounts for a spicier and an exotic version of the same.    You will love this egg curry, especially in the winter months as it is just right for the season, so comforting and warm. So, let's get started; A pictorial description of the recipe is given at the bottom of this page. You will need the following ingredients: Ingredients             Amounts Eggs                                6

Spinach soup - Weight loss soup - Velvety smooth and delicious

Image
This velvety smooth spinach has two wonderful factors; it is supremely delicious as well as high in nutritional value. Buy a bag full of spinach which won't cost you anything and make a large batch of this soup, enough for two days.  You will love the creamy and velvety smooth texture and the taste of it, you might want to taste it again and again. This is my way of making it and I used fresh milk to maintain the low-calorie levels that help in losing extra weight around your tummy.  I have not used anything artificial or soup cubes in this recipe but only a few natural ingredients such as onions and garlic in this recipe.  So, for those who are seeking a light dinner choice but a fuller tummy, this is the right soup for you.   What you will need:  (Quantities are not specified as you can throw any of these ingredients as you prefer into the pot) Spinach Onions Garlic Water Fresh milk Little sugar Salt to taste Pepper powder Oil - 1tbsp How to make:  Heat oil in a tall, heavy botto

Carrot soup - Deliciously creamy and healthy

Whatever the weather, you will love the smooth and silky taste of this soup.  Its milky taste with a hint of the natural sweetness of carrots will make you let out a satisfied sigh just after a few spoonfuls. The best news is that this soup will make you feel full to the brim and you will not raid the fridge in the middle of the night. therefore, it indeed helps to shrink the extra ounces around your midriff.  Make a larger quantity and store the extra potion in the fridge for the next day.  And, believe me, the next day it tastes better! So, let's make it! Ingredients needed: Carrots              -500g Onions                  -2 Garlic cloves    -5 A piece of ginger      Salt to taste Pepper powder -1/4tsp  Water Fresh milk  - 1/2 glass How to make: Heat oil in a heavy bottom tall pan and drop  chopped onions, a piece of ginger, and garlic Fry until onions are soft. Tomato soup - Deliciously silky and supremely healthy

Image
You will love this silky-smooth tomato soup as a light dinner choice with a few croutons or a slice of toasted wholemeal bread. Surprisingly you will feel hugely satisfied, full in the tummy, having had just one bowl of this hearty soup, and never want to binge eat, raiding the fridge in the middle of the night.  Also, this soup has nothing artificial or unhealthy, so, make a large batch and store it in the fridge for the next day too. Remember to buy juicy ripe tomatoes from the greengrocer not from the supermarkets because the freshly picked tomatoes give a beautiful red shade to the soup and taste supremely delicious too. Also, I must emphasise that bay leaves are a must in this recipe as they give a distinct flavour unique to this soup.  So, remember to buy them along with tomatoes before setting yourself to make this soup. Ingredients needed: Juicy tomatoes -500g Onions                  -2 Water Salt to taste Sugar                -1tbsp Bay leaves          -2 How to make: Heat o

Chilli paste - Chinese taste enhancer - For noodles, Nasi Goreng

Image
While experimenting on this great taste bud winner, I came across a method to minimize the amount of oil used in it  Instead of deep frying all the ingredients as everyone usually does,  I stir-fried! Surprisingly,  the taste was supreme, despite not being drenched in oil like many available brands on the shop shelves. Taste this once and you will never buy any supermarket brands.  Make a large batch and fill it into a glass bottle and store it in the fridge. It will sit in the fridge fresh and aromatic for about a month. Ingredients needed; Ingredients    Amounts Dried Shrimp  2cups Sugar              1tbsp Salt                 1tsp Soy sauce        3tbsp Chilli flakes       2tbsp          Onion              1/2cup Ginger/garlic   2tbsp Vinegar           1tbsp Let's make it; In 2tbsp of oil, fry the dried shrimp and keep aside Add 1tbsp more oil and fry onions and keep aside Add 1tbsp of oil and fry chilli flakes, chopped ginger and garlic Bring them all together and give

Best Kale Recipe - Kale stir-fried - Healthy, delicious and addictive

Image
The latest superfood, Kale is rich in vitamins   C and K, iron and also contains vital antioxidants which help in detoxing our system. The challenge is how to make these curly, rough, and dark green leaves appealing to our tastebuds.  Kale cannot be added to salads because they have a quite thick and hard texture which will not be easily digested.  But, once cooked through they become soft and wilted and even ooze out some natural oiliness. I found out that when adding a handful of desiccated coconuts, stir-fried Kale tastes quite delicious and rather addictive.   You can eat the whole lot with steamed hot rice or just on its own.   This Kale recipe is a real joy to try out and you can add the ingredients as you go.  Hence, I did not mention the exact amounts of ingredients needed.    You'll need these few ingredients; Kale leaves 1 large onion A few garlic cloves A couple of dried red chillies A handful of desiccated coconuts - available in supermarkets Salt 1

Paneer Butter Masala - Deliciously silky gravy and cushiony soft paneer cubes

Image
These cushiony paneer cubes in a pool of delicious, silky gravy is indeed a warm, comforting, and delicious vegetarian dish, that originated in the Indian subcontinent. With hot steamed white rice or with rotis, you can scoop all up; smooth paneer cubes along with creamy gravy, and tuck them all in at once!  Delicious! Paneer is Indian-style cottage cheese and butter panner masala is a creamy curry-style dish made of paneer cubes, tomatoes, spices, onions, garlic, and double cream.  This popular dish is served at any Indian restaurant but I can vouch, that the homemade version is much more delicious and healthy too.  I deliberately avoided using cashews in my recipe because many are allergic to them and partly because of my intention to keep the calorie level low so that this could be a regular dish at home. I suggest that you  gather the necessary spices, panner, and especially Kasoori Methi which is dried fenugreek leaves from an Asian supermarket, and consult the steps given in the
