Red Nose Day Cup Cakes recipe - A real showstopper

Image
You can see the moods created on top of the iced cupcake to imply that expressions are unique to us, humans: Cool faces, mild faces, wild faces, glamorous faces with pouting lips, guys with cool glasses, and some sad faces with single tears.  You can set your creative ideas to take over and enjoy doing something unique and beautiful to make yours look special! I used ready-to-roll icing in different colours to make the features.  Delicious homemade butter icing (the recipe given below) is smeared liberally on all the cupcakes. I normally bake the cupcakes on the previous day and let them cool off completely.  The next day, you have all the time and energy to spare for decorating them elaborately.  If you couple both on the same day, you could be too tired to launch yourself into decorating them at your heart’s desire. So, let’s start, You'll need the following ingredients Ingredients      Amounts Let’s make them Set the oven to 180 C . (Tem

Banana And Walnut Cake - Better Than Starbucks'

Image
The intoxicating scent and sweetness of bananas and the crunchiness of walnuts make this cake the ultimate best you can ever dream of a tea-time cake! In the process of trying to produce something similar to Starbucks’ banana and walnut cake, I ended up creating something far better and simply irresistible.  Adding a generous amount of lemon juice did the miracle of incorporating the tastes of all the ingredients included. Also, drizzling a spoonful of golden syrup out of impulse brought wonders to the flavours! No need of describing the taste and flavours, please do make this gorgeous cake and let me know whether it won over the Starbucks' version. Over-riped bananas with black patches on the skin are the best for this cake. They are high in flavour and moisture, which in turn gives a delicious scent and taste to this cake. You will need the following ingredients to make this delicious cake;   Ingredients          Amounts                            Bananas

Nasi Goreng - Delicious Indonesian Fried Rice - step by step easy recipe

Image
This glorious rice dish is a traditional Indonesian one which has now been embraced by other countries in the region and is a culinary star in its own right! This is just a one-pot dish with multiple flavours and no wonder that it gained such a huge popularity.  Indonesian mothers used to serve this dish as breakfast by tossing vegetables, leftover cooked chicken and prawns with cold rice from the previous night’s dinner and flavoured with some sauces.  They must have never believed that this simple, hurriedly rustled-up dish would win the hearts of many and become the most sorted dish in the Asian region and beyond. It’s indeed, a very clever way to give the leftover rice a scrumptiously flavourful finish. So, keeping the tradition, I too made my Nasi Goreng using pre-cooked cold rice from the fridge. The benefit of using cold rice is that it does not get overcooked in the process of cooking under a high flame but gives a very appetising texture. Adding prawns to this dish proves to b

Yule Log Cake For Christmas

Image
Bring extra merriness to your Christmas table with this beautiful festive Chocolate Swiss Roll Yule Log cake The interesting history behind the Yule Log I would like to write a bit about the fascinating history of the Yule Log cake here, before writing down the recipe of it. The interesting story is that many years ago, the custom was, that a large tree would be cut down and bring the bark to the house by the head of the family before Christmas.  One side of it would be placed in the fireplace and lit up while the rest of the log would be lying across the living space. The log would be slowly fed into the fire which gave warmth and a cozy atmosphere for all the 12 days of celebrating Christmas.  Enjoy making this cake and spread joy among family and friends during this festive time! Step by step recipe is given and nothing could possibly go wrong in the process. I particularly loved decorating it, giving it a real Christmassy appearance; The height of
