Indulge in this delicious chocolate mug cake and let your troubles melt away!
Addictively warm and chocolatey, you’ll love scooping it out as melted chocolate drips down from the spoon!
Want some tips?
Double the ingredients when you are making two mug cakes and keep the rest of the batter in the fridge, so that you can make two more mug cakes the next day.
Just jot down the recipe and stick it on the fridge door because once you try it, it’ll be in constant demand
Remember to use wide mugs with an average height like the one shown in the picture. And don't forget, it's crucial to fill the mug only halfway—this cake will rise to the top, and you don’t want any spills to ruin the fun!
Ingredients you'll need for 2 mug cakes;
Ingredient | Amount |
---|---|
Egg | 1 |
Sugar | 4 tbsp |
Milk | 3tbsp |
Butter (melted) | 2 tbsp |
Salt-pinches | 2 |
To combine together |
|
Plain flour | 4 tbsp |
Baking powder | 1/2 tsp |
Cocoa powder | 1 tbsp |
Let’s make;
Step 1:
- Drop sugar into a jug
- Melt the butter and add it in to the jug
- Add the egg and whisk until frothy
- Pour in milk
- Whisk a bit more and keep it aside.
Step 2:
- Combine flour, baking powder, cocoa powder, and salt together
- Pour into the wet mixture
- Mix the batter with a fork or a balloon mixer until the batter is creamy and runny
Step 3: Microwave for 1min
- Pour the batter equally into two mugs. Mugs should be filled only up to half as the batter could spill out while microwaving
- Drop chocolate shavings/chocolate chips/chocolate buttons on top
- Microwave one mug for 1 minute on full power. Five more seconds will do if you feel the batter is too wet
- Take the mug out of the microwave
- Drop a few chocolate shavings or buttons on top and let them melt on top before serving
- Repeat the same with the second mug
Yum Yum!
- Dig in!
