"Ultimate Lasagne Delight: Layers of Flavour in Every Mouthful!"

Image
My lasagna is just out of the oven! This cheesy, meaty and juicy lasagne is always a real winner of hearts!   Just a one-pot dish with meat, an assortment of colourful veggies, heaps of spinach and layers of pasta topped with lots of cheese and homemade white sauce, could be the most satisfying meal at any time.  The warmth of this dish is quite appealing during the Autumn and Winter months when the atmosphere is cold, dark and damp. The delicious meaty flavour, laced with the sweetness of veggies and the creamy savoury taste of cheese and white sauce will wrap you like a warm blanket giving ample warmth and contentment. Rather than making the pasta sauce from scratch, I opted for my favourite Loyds Grossman pasta sauce. Its unique flavours fulfil all the needs of a juicy sauce that satisfies everyone’s taste buds. Also, it is best if you could make the white sauce at home. I have given the simplest recipe which contributes a great deal to the creamy texture of the lasagne. Believe me.

Fruit Custard - Delicious Fruit Dessert

Image
I have no hesitation in branding this as my family’s favourite dessert choice. Any time of the year, any seasonal fruits tossed in this creamy custard cream are always a winner! I believe that this is the best way to sneak lots of varieties of fruits into kids’ diet without much cajoling.  If you are serving kids under 5 years, make sure to cut the fruits into small pieces to avoid any choking hazards. As for the custard, the vanilla flavour is best for this recipe as it doesn’t rob the natural sweetness and the fruity aroma of the assortment of fruits you add to it. Also, feel free to toss some colourful tutti fruiti, cashews, raisins etc to give it a more cheerful appearance and taste. What you'll need; 2 tbsp Vanilla flavour custard powder 2 tsp Condensed milk 1tbsp Sugar 1/2 litre or two cups of Milk Fruits: Go for bananas, oranges, apples, mangoes, kiwis, red/green grapes, cherries, blueberries, papaya, pineapples, strawberries etc Let’s make it:  Make the custard Follow the i

Salmon fillets - Pan fried - Healthy Dinner Choice

Image
These crispy, golden, pan-fried salmon fillets, wrapped with aromatic spices, could be the most satisfying and healthy dinner choice for anyone who fancies a light meal. A couple of slices of garlic bread, and an assortment of steamed veggies rolled on a blob of butter could add extra flavours as well as nutritional value to this meal. It’s amazing that this combination of spices adds a real fusion to the fish and also wrapping the fish fillets on crushed cornflakes has taken a very rebellious turn compared to the usual – mild, just-salt-and-pepper with a dash of the lemon version of frying the same fish. While the fish are sizzling on the pan, the juices will run out and the aroma will fill the kitchen, tempting you to grab a little piece from a side and pop it straight into your mouth! Seriously, do not burn your fingers! It will be ready in minutes! Oh, remember to scrape the juices and toss them on the fillets before taking them out of the pan. They will taste heavenly! So, let’s m

Vanilla Cupcakes - Fluffy and spongy

Image
These plain vanilla cupcakes are so easy to make and they will stay fresh and moist for days! I have added cornflour into the cake batter to make the cakes extra spongy.  The light, silkiness in cornflour had a magical effect! Important tip :   Keep an eye on the oven because the cakes can get baked and the top would be crispy instead of coming out super soft and spongy. Hence, as soon as you see them changing into a soft golden colour, open the oven door and quickly insert a skewer or press in the middle to check if they are baked properly.  If the cakes are fully baked the skewer should come clean or if you press them in the middle, they should spring back.  Immediately, take the cakes out of the oven and let them cool off. Let’s make them at  teatime today! You'll need the following items Ingredients           Amounts Self Raising fl. 225 g Corn flour 25 g Caster sugar 250 g Margarine 250 g Milk 1/4 cup Eggs 4 Salt 3 pinches Baking powder 1 tsp Lemon juice   1 tsp each Let’s mak

Banana Cake - Do Not Throw Over Ripe Bananas

Image
The rich scent of bananas and the super moist texture of this cake is simply intoxicating! Believe me, the satisfaction of eating a slice of this with a hot cup of tea in the afternoon could revive you instantly. I feel it is a perfect combination of all the best things in one place; melt in the  mouth texture, rich taste, and sweet banana scent! Overripe bananas in your fruit bowl are ideal with their taste and scent for this cake.  So, never bin them again. Bake this and take it to your ailing aunt, a good friend, your mum who is alone in an empty nest, or anyone who is struggling with a bad patch, and watch how quickly their faces light up, as soon as they taste this beautiful cake. I added raisins to give the cake a bit more richness but if you prefer chocolate chips, that too goes perfectly well. Do not add too much of either, as the taste of banana should be the highlight of this cake. If you prefer just a plain cake just go ahead! I sometimes bake it plain but the taste is never
