Buy a bag full of spinach which won't cost you anything and make a large batch of this soup, enough for two days. You will love the creamy and velvety smooth texture and the taste of it, you might want to taste it again and again.
This is my way of making it and I used fresh milk to maintain the low-calorie levels that help in losing extra weight around your tummy. I have not used anything artificial or soup cubes in this recipe but only a few natural ingredients such as onions and garlic in this recipe. So, for those who are seeking a light dinner choice but a fuller tummy, this is the right soup for you.
What you will need:
(Quantities are not specified as you can throw any of these ingredients as you prefer into the pot)
- Spinach
- Onions
- Garlic
- Water
- Fresh milk
- Little sugar
- Salt to taste
- Pepper powder
- Oil - 1tbsp
How to make:
- Heat oil in a tall, heavy bottom pan and throw some chopped onions and garlic. Saute them
- Then drop half a bag of spinach and give a good mix until the spinach is wilted
- Pour a glass of water, cover, and cook for 10mins
- Then, blend into a smooth liquid
- Pour back into the same pot, Add another glass of water and 1/2 mug of milk
- Add pepper powder, salt, and a little sugar
- Simmer under low a flame for 10-15mins
- Your deliciously smooth spinach soup is ready!
- Serve with croutons or toasted bread
