 Sushi - A visual feast and a delicious treat!

Beyond its taste, sushi is indeed a visual feast. 

You can easily make sushi at home and enjoy the authentic flavors of Japanese cuisine, combining fresh ingredients with a bit of creativity for a truly satisfying meal!

Here’s a simple and classic sushi recipe to bring the sushi bar experience to your home:

Ingredients needed:

  • Nori sheets
  • Pink salmon fillets or sheets
  • Soy sauce
  • Sushi rice
  • Little vinegar, salt and sugar

Instructions:

Prepare the Sushi Rice:
  • Cook the Sushi rice according to the instructions given in the packet. 
Usually, you need to cook the Sushi rice / Japanese rice in a pan with the right amount of water, mixed with a bit of rice vinegar and a little white sugar under a very low flame.  Let the rice cool enough to fold in nori papers.

Prepare Your Fillings:
  • Fry the fish slightly with a dash of soy sauce
Assemble the Sushi Rolls:
  • Lay a sheet of nori, shiny side down, on the mat
  • Place a handful of sushi rice. Spread the rice evenly 
  • Place the fish on rice
  • Roll the sushi away from you, tucking the filling in as you go. Apply gentle pressure to form a tight roll. Wet the uncovered edge of the nori to seal the roll

 Slice and Serve
  • With a sharp knife, slice the sushi roll into bite-sized pieces
  • Sprinkle soy sauce
  • Serve with soy sauce on the side for dipping. Drop a few chopped green chillies for a bit of heat and flavour
  • Serve green tea at the end of the meal
